Reviews:
Review taken from Vinyl A Go Go:
Over the years the Sonic Dolls have gained a reputation for knocking out
some of the best pop-punk Europe has to offer, or at least for doing it
longer than anyone else. Riot at the Sheep Dog Trials, the lovelorn Germans’
latest effort does not prove the preachers wrong. Fourteen slabs of pop-punk,
this time injected with a ROCK attack in the production and guitar tones,
but still containing the bands trademark melodic sensibility. During all
the rock, pop, and punk you get a dose of girls, action seeking young
men, riots, boneheads, and really down and out Germans who keep waiting
and waiting, presumably for the girls.
Review taken from Muster Up:
This German band has been around for almost 10 years and this is their
4th full length release. Mid paced punk rock. The lyrics cover subjects
like clone bands, boneheads (against not in support of) and personal lovers.
Backing this there is a great driving wall of guitar and catchy rhythm’s.
Finally good to hear the poppier side of punk that doesn’t sound
like a boy band with instruments. The production is pretty good while
keeping a raw sound and not being over polished. If you like pop punk
on the rougher sounding side…get this.
